Rose quartz

Rose quartz is the soft pink to rosy variety, colored by trace titanium, iron, or microscopic mineral fibers (which can give it a faint star). Smoky quartz

Citrine — the tricky one

Natural citrine is a pale yellow to golden quartz colored by iron, and it is fairly uncommon. Most citrine in shops is heat-treated amethyst, recognizable by a reddish or burnt-orange tint and a whitish base where the purple used to be. Natural citrine tends toward a subtler lemon-to-honey yellow. Neither is 'fake' — but the distinction affects value and honesty in labeling.

Telling them apart

All three are quartz, so they share hardness 7, glassy luster, and conchoidal fracture — color is the divider. Confirm quartz first (scratches glass, no cleavage), then judge by hue. For citrine specifically, look for the concentrated orange-brown 'ovenbaked' color and pale base that betray heat treatment.
